Under the Big Top

On Friday, our county was hit by a EF2 or 3 tornado. It hit 20 minutes or so from our house and the sad part is that we had no idea that anything had happened until my parents called on their way home from our house. They had heard at a local fast food restaurant that cars had been tossed around on the interstate. After a quick look on the internet we discovered that there was speculation that a tornado had touched down. Today, I am still learning of people that we know who have been effected by this storm. It is amazing to hear some of the stories from these families and how God provided protection. I do not know the accuracy of this, but at one point we heard that 500 homes have been damaged and 50 destroyed. Sadly, two people were killed. The next time there is a tornado warning in our area, we will be the ones in our basement. Having lived here so long now, we have become a little complacent when those warnings are issued.
