Today we traveled to Pennsylvania. Morgan was expecting all things Philly... "Are we gonna learn about the Phillies?" No. "Are we gonna' learn about the Phanatic?" No. (I am sure you can figure out who said what in that dialogue.) Instead, we talked and read about the Amish way of life. We talked about quilts. Since Pennsylvania is known for their pretzels, we read "Walter the Baker" and made our own pretzels. As always, we tried to integrate some vocabulary and concepts for Ryan (longer than the ruler, roll, twist, etc). Watch out Sturgis - Rylee might just be the next pretzel maker! The girl made her pretzels in no time and had absolutely no problems forming them!
Next time you're here, we'll go visit Sturgis!!! Rylee can show off her pretzel making skills!
