Today we explored Cali-for-nia!! Since Morgan loves San Francisco and Ryan loves bridges - we focused on the Golden Gate Bridge and bridges in general. We talked about the purpose of bridges and the different types of bridges. Then, we did a little Y**T*be-ing to find videos of the Golden Gate and photos of the other types of bridges. Then, we headed out and drove to a couple of unique bridges in our area. One of which we had no idea existed until right before we headed out. The kids thought it was great and we explored a new part of our county - it still amazes me how much of our county we still have yet to see!! The covered bridge was out in the middle of nowhere, but it was a beautiful drive! Once we got home, I threw out a ton of different materials (tape, blocks, paper, wooden skewers, toothpicks, mini marshmallows, string, etc) and challenged them to build a bridge. Let's just say... It is not looking like we have any engineers in our family's future!
