Iowa - Check!

Another state marked off of our list. Our day began with Rylee asking a question that she frequently asks in her sweet little way - "Are we far, far away?" Every time she asks this question, I can't help but giggle as it is such a storybook phrase and she is such a storybook kind of child. She loves all of that princess type stuff and she enjoys a good fairy tale complete with a happy ending! She is our imaginative one and so it is only appropriate that she ask "Are we far, far away?" when wondering how far we are away from home or how far we will be traveling.
Today, we drove across the state of Missouri and then up the western side of Missouri up to Iowa. Guess what we saw in Iowa... Corn! I can't believe how strange it was to see so much flat land. It has been such a long time since we have driven for that length of time and seen so much flat land. That being said, we did not see much. We did encounter the stadiums for the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals. That was pretty cool. Our other site was the Sapp Bros. Giant Coffee Pot noted on Roadside America as the World's Largest Coffee Pot. Not sure how true that is, but I can attest that it was a large coffee pot! We are going to see what other sites we might find through this Roadside America. Based upon today's finding, it could be interesting!

Oh, I forgot to mention this yesterday... Once we arrived in St. Louis yesterday, Morgan asked (in all seriousness) if we could go and visit the birthplace of Ryan Howard. When we told him we didn't know where that was he wanted to find the hospital he was born in. Yep! He is still obsessed with "The Big Man!"
